The Problem & The Outcome

Traditional sail trim relies on subjective feel and manual observation. RavenEye brings objective, real-time data to every maneuver.

The Problem

Sailors often struggle to maintain optimal trim as conditions change, relying on inconsistent visual cues and delayed feedback.

  • Subjective assessment of sail shape
  • Difficulty tracking trim changes over time
  • Inconsistent performance across different crews

The Outcome

RavenEye provides a clear, data-driven view of your sails, allowing for precise adjustments and repeatable performance.

  • Objective metrics for camber and draft
  • Instant feedback on trim adjustments
  • Consistent performance in all conditions

Product in Action

RavenEye transforms images every 3 seconds into actionable performance data in three simple steps.

Our system uses advanced computer vision to track your sail's shape in real-time, providing the same level of detail previously reserved for professional racing teams.

1

Capture

Low-power ESP32-CAMs mounted on the rig capture still images of the sail's draft stripes every 3 seconds.

2

Analyze

On-board processing identifies sail geometry, calculating camber, depth, and entry/exit angles.

3

Display

Metrics are streamed instantly to your Garmin watch or tablet for immediate trim adjustments.

Core Capabilities

A complete performance ecosystem designed to turn visual cues into repeatable, data-driven victories.

Live Trim Feedback

RavenEye uses computer vision to analyze your sail's draft stripes in real-time, extracting precise geometric data about your sail's shape.

  • Live Camber & Depth: Instant feedback on sail power and draft position.
  • Entry/Exit Analysis: Precise measurement of luff entry and leech exit angles.
  • Glanceable Metrics: High-contrast data optimized for Garmin watches and cockpit displays.

Maneuver Review

Automatically identify tacks and gybes from your heading data, with detailed performance metrics for every maneuver to analyze speed recovery and consistency.

  • Automated Detection: Identifies tacks and gybes from heading data.
  • Speed Recovery: Review speed recovery and consistency after maneuvers.
  • Post-Race Review: Analyze every maneuver with synchronized sail shape data.

Rig Tune & Sail Tracking

Bridge the gap between your rig setup and live sail performance. Manage rig profiles for varying conditions and track sail usage to monitor shape degradation.

  • Rig Profile System: Manage setups for varying wind ranges and sea states.
  • Tune Verification: Verify mast bend and stay tension against target profiles.
  • Inventory & Aging: Track sail usage hours and monitor shape degradation trends.

FAQ & Objection Handling

Direct answers to the most common pilot questions and concerns.

Is RavenEye production-ready?

RavenEye is currently in the prototype stage, built for pilot teams who want to shape the product. We provide direct engineering support to ensure successful operation during this phase.

What displays are supported today?

Garmin Connect IQ watches are fully supported for real-time telemetry display. iPad and tablet interfaces are also available for secondary monitoring and data review.

How hard is installation?

Installation is streamlined with an automated setup script that handles all software dependencies and configuration. Pilot partners receive personal assistance from our team to ensure the hardware is integrated correctly.

Is it ready for wet/offshore use?

Current prototypes are functional but we are actively refining weather-hardening for heavy spray and offshore conditions. Hydrophobic lens treatments and improved enclosures are part of the ongoing pilot development.
